Steve Henneberry originally came in as a reserve gladiator in the summer of 1991. Although he was effectively just a backup, Tower was quickly thrusted into action when Turbo hyperextended his knee in the middle of the season. At 6'4" and 270, he registers as the biggest gladiator ever (so much so that he could not compete in Skytrack-- the harness wasn't big enough!). At first, he drew ire from American Gladiators fans for being a "replacement Turbo". Citing the same uniform and events competed in, fans were eventually won over by Tower's strong competitiveness, humble personality, and great performance in events. His large size was truly an asset, with a 510 lb. max-bench and a 7000 calorie diet. He would get called-back for the next two seasons, before he left to pursue other projects. Tower's favorite food is pizza, and he also garnered the title of Mr. America 1990.
